"then came you"

(part 2)

By Makenna Kovacs

the silence is deafening,

the darkness is blinding,

the weight of your body is numbing.

i want to run into my mamas arms,

to let go of the pain i've bottled inside.

i sleep with a nightlight,

doors wide open,

afraid of the loneliness that is life.

my head is reeling,

i'm so done feeling,

but nobody sees what's inside my head.

but i'm a snake shedding my skin that was once touched by you.
